Storage and buffers
Storage is a stock at a point in time; a buffer is how long that stock covers a chosen demand. Keep both separate from production rate.
Measure the right quantity
Use the amount actually available for the intended need. Reserved construction materials or planned exports should not silently count as an emergency supply.
Interpret a buffer result
The simple buffer calculation assumes no replenishment: stock divided by consumption per period. If you include production, use a net-depletion model and state the change in assumptions.
Capacity does not guarantee delivery
A warehouse may have space while another part of your plan remains short. Our warehouse planner estimates a capacity requirement using values you enter; it does not simulate service reach.
